TOYOTA MATRIX

I last reviewed the Lexus LFA and it felt awesome but not everyone can afford such a beauty so if your budget falls below $20,000 this is a car you might want to buy.

The Toyota Matrix officially referred to as the Toyota Corolla Matrix is a compact hatchback manufactured by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada and was derived from the Toyota Corolla, and introduced in 2002 as a 2003 model.

I would recommend this vehicle for very small fa milies (3 to 4 members)..... it wouldnt work for large families like mine of 6...

Small families would fit right in excluding hitchhickers (those and the road and those pesky family friends)

From 2003 to 2008 Toyota offered variants of the Toyota Matrix with two different engines and three types of transmissions

1. A 1.794L engine capable of 130 breakhorsepower
2. A 1.796L engine capable of 180 breakhorsepower

Transmissions offered include;

1.  4-speed automatic
2.  5-speed manual
3.  6-speed manual

Sales of the Toyota Matrix started at US$14,670 

The Second generation of Toyota Matrix was available from 2009 to 2014 with few modifications to the original model.

Toyota offered two types of engines also with three different types of transmission

1. 1.797L engine capable of 132 breakhorsepower
2. 2.362L engine capable of 158 breakhorsepower

Transmissions offered include;

1. 4-speed automatic
2. 5-speed automatic
3. 5-speed manual 

However On August 5, 2013, Toyota announced it would end production of the Matrix in  the US market however production continued in Canada in 2014 but ended that year.

So with the matrix out of the production line those seek ing this modest piece of engineering would have to go for used ones.

Personally I would have loved to see a future model of this vehicle however Toyota knows best....


Although not the fastest and sleekest it has a ring to its name like youre in a sci-fi and your name is Max.....

So for the young people and the young at heart get yourself a Toyota Matrix
